Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
A practical, evidence-based group program that teaches you to meet stress with awareness rather than reactivity. Over 10 guided sessions you will build self-awareness, emotional resilience and coping skills alongside others on a similar path - and learn to move from surviving to thriving.

Dr Dipti McGowan, an experienced Clinical Psychologist trained in mindfulness-based interventions, guides participants through this practical and compassionate 10-session program in a safe and supportive environment.
Dipti is passionate about teaching simple, effective tools that help participants manage stress and cultivate greater calm, clarity, and resilience.

MBSR is also the foundation for our Mindful Self-Compassion program.
Program Details & Medicare Rebate
- Duration: 8 weeks (10 x 2 hr sessions)
- Cost: $1,200 (paid upfront at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the programme)
- Medicare rebate (where eligible): $70.05 per session (x10) = $700.50
Out-of-pocket cost: $499.50 total (just $25/hr for 20 hours of therapy) - Rebate requirements: Mental Health Care Plan from your GP; referral must be made to Dr Dipti McGowan for "the maximum number of Group Sessions under the Mental Health Care Plan". Note that each Medicare eligible participant is entitled to 10 Group Sessions in addition to 10 Individual Sessions each calendar year.
- Note: Full program fee is payable upfront. Missed sessions are non-refundable (see Cancellation Policy below). Medicare rebates are processed after each session attended and are typically received within 48 hours.
- Ongoing Support: After the programme has ended, optional monthly Continuing Practice sessions are available to support the continuing practice of skills learned. These sessions have been developed after input from previous participants who wanted to maintain and build on the benefits gained during the Group Therapy.

Our Commitment to You & Our Cancellation Policy
Because these group therapy sessions may be partially funded by Medicare for eligible participants, we have to maintain a minimum group size. To help ensure that this requirement is met, we have the following refund/cancellation policy:
Cancellation within 1 week of the start of the first group session: 0% Refund.
Cancellation within 2 weeks of the start of the first group session: 50% Refund.
Cancellation prior to 2 weeks before the start of the first group session: 100% Refund.
If you miss a session once the programme has started, you can join that session with a future group. No refund or Medicare rebate is available in this case.
